The Formula 1 Commission convened at the FIA’s London offices on Tuesday for its second meeting of the year, chaired by F1 President and CEO Stefano Domenicali and FIA Single-Seater Director Nikolas Tombazis. It followed an initial gathering held during pre-season testing in Bahrain in February.
After the talks concluded, the FIA issued a brief statement confirming that several changes to the 2027 Technical and Sporting Regulations have been provisionally agreed.
On the technical side, the Commission approved minor adjustments to aerodynamic and bodywork components. These refinements come in the wake of the introduction of all-new cars for the 2026 season.
Sporting regulations were also addressed, with a proposal to extend pre-season testing in 2027 from three to four days receiving approval.
As with all regulatory matters, the revisions remain subject to formal ratification by the FIA World Motor Sport Council (WMSC).
What to watch next: attention now turns to the WMSC for formal approval. Once ratified, teams and stakeholders will digest the final wording ahead of planning for the 2027 season, including test scheduling and any technical updates aligned with the 2026 car platform.
